Course overview

You do not have a starting problem. You have eleven half-built things and a growing suspicion about yourself. Finish It is a six-week course about the last ten percent of a project — the unglamorous, badly-lit stretch where the interesting problems are already solved and all that is left is the work. It is the part nobody teaches, because it is the part nobody enjoys. It is not about motivation or discipline. It is about the specific, boring, learnable techniques that people who ship use to get across the line: cutting scope without lying to yourself, defining done before you start, and recognising the exact moment a project stops being late and starts being abandoned. Six weeks. One project of yours, which you will finish. That is the entire promise, and it is not a small one.

Part 1

Week 1 — Define done, in writing, before anything else

Most unfinished projects were never finishable, because "done" was never a specific claim anyone could check. You will write down what done means for your project and discover, uncomfortably, that you cannot.

Part 2

Week 2 — The scope cut you keep refusing to make

Every stalled project has one feature holding it hostage. You know which one it is. This week is about removing it, and about the honest difference between cutting scope and quietly giving up.

Part 3

Week 3 — Shipping the ugly version on purpose

The first version that is real is worth more than the fourth version that is imagined. We ship yours this week, to someone real, while it is still embarrassing.
